10 month old baby & biscuit vs. 13 month old Mastiff. And the winner is...
The 13 month old Mastiff, of course!
Dogs & children can be great friends. But, both dog & child must be taught what is acceptable play and what is not. A dog, especially a large one, can unintentionally hurt a small child by stepping on him, sitting on him, or just wagging his tail. And children can unintentionally hurt a dog by stepping on him, sitting on him, pulling on whiskers, tails, & ears. Please teach both your child and your dog how to behave with each other. There is a world of safe fun awaiting them! And, as these photos will show, dogs can be a great influence on children :)
Here is Pai posing with his favorite niece & nephew - Kaitlyn & Liam (that's Sampson on the table)
Pai demonstrates here how to share his toys with little Liam :)
These pictures were taken at a dog show hosted by the Kennel Club of Philadelphia in November of 2002 - Kaitlyn posed with some of her favorites :) Before going up to these dogs, however, Kait did the responsible thing and first asked their handlers if she could have her photo taken with them.
One day, our Kait is going to be a great handler! She is going to be taking classes soon to learn how to handle dogs for the show ring :) I'm sure she will do great!
Here Pai is just hanging with Liam
Liam, being the wiggle worm that he is, was moving about too much, so Pai decided to get off the couch :)
Hehe, let's hope that Kait & Liam's mommy doesn't see these pictures!
Another great dog handler in the making!
